The Weasleys arrive at the Dursley's by Floo powder.

~*~*~*~*~*

"What is it?" gasped Aunt Petnunia, who had backed into the wall and was staring, terrified, toward the fire. "What is it, Vernon?"

But they were left in doubt barely a second longer. Voices could be heard from inside the blocked fireplace.

"Ouch! Fred,no---go back, go back, there's been some kind of mistake---tell George not to---OUCH! George, no, there's no room, go back quickly and tell Ron---"

"Maybe Harry can hear us, Dad---maybe he'll be able to let us out---"

There was a loud hammering of fists on the boards behind the electric fire.

"Harry? Harry, can you hear us?"

Someone posted this as a link from the Harry Potter Companion and I adore this! It's just like I've always imagined it to be, with them stuck in a fireplace and unable to really make out anything. I just wonder how Mr. Weasley wants them to get back out...

lol I'm glad you liked it. I actually was surprised at how it turned out for the short amount of time I actually ended up spending on it.... which wasn't terribly long. But it's definitely got the comedic quality that I thought of when I read that scene in the book!

Well, it looks lovely and if you spent less time on it, awesome! I really do like how you drew the Weasleys.

This scene tends to make me laugh, so I'm glad I have a visual now that fits. ^.^

Hee hee hee, you're right. I deliberately chose the scene because it wasn't often drawn. It was a contest submission a long time ago and I was tired of seeing the cliche stuff. So I sat down and thought, "what's a scene that was really great but no one pays attention to?" And I came up with the Floo Powder scene with the Weasleys trapped in the fireplace. XD And it still makes me giggle thinking about it.

Yeah, I borrowed a chiaroscuro technique of defining the shapes in a picture ONLY by shadow and highlight. (Da Vinci was a huge fan of it.) I used to do it all the time but stopped. I find it's perfect for a situation like that, though.

Poor weasley boys :D I wonder if they'll put this bit in the next movie? Maybe they'll just skip it - they're going to have to cram so much into the next movie that it'll hardly be surprising if they do....
